blow up water slide Amphibians, Reptiles, and Fish Lesson
This is the third part of the 5-part hand.Unit study of animals and animalsPeel off your "skin" like a reptile, dissect the fish, make origami jump frogs, compare the eggs of amphibians and reptiles by feeling cassava and grapes, when you study amphibians and fish!My course is for 3rd-The children of the fourth grade and their brothers and sisters. These are the classes I created to work with weekly family Schoolsop.
We meet 2 1/2 hours a week with 11 children under the age of 013.Use these fun lessons with your classroom, family, after-school lessons, camp or collaborationop!1.Stretch.Pray.2.Audit classification. If needed, sing the first section of the "Six Kingdoms" and "spine" songs from the previous lesson.
(Find a link to the previous lesson by going to the section at the bottom of this page titled "prepare for the next lesson?\".3.Read some of Mary Olde's articles on the 10 plagues in escape from Egypt.(Or, you can read a passage in the Bible.Let the kids say all the coldThere are blood-borne chiropractic animals or animals mentioned during the plague.
(The staff turned into a reptile [snake ].Because of the blood, the fish died in the blood of the Nile.Amphibians [frogs] are everywhere on land.
by Mary Auld -Of the 10 plagues in Egypt, each animal (fish, frog, and snake) we are working on is used or mentioned! This is longer than what we usually use in class, so I want pictures.I love the illustrations in the book because they look more authentic (so kids don't confuse stories with cartoon novels), but they are still soft enough that even smaller kids will enjoy watching them.I particularly like it to be consistent with the description in the Bible.
4.
Discuss heating and heating quickly (heat-blooded & cold-Animals ).5.Read Suzanne Slade's fish: fin-like and thorn-like animals. While reading, let the child open and close his mouth repeatedly like a fish to breathe the air.
Simply mention mouth-kissed fish, let the child each hold a "egg" (fudge) in his mouth, and do not bite or swallow them like mouth-kissed fish carrying eggs in his mouth.6.Demonstrate how the fish SAC works.God-designed fish has a swim bladder that fills the air when they want to rise in the water, and when they want to sink into the water it makes all the air come out.Demo with balloons and a large bowl of water.
Blow the balloon and show how the filled "swim bladder" raises the "fish" near the water surface ".Let the air out and show how to sink the fish. The air is lighter than water, so it helps the fish rise when the fish bladder is full.
People used similar designs on submarines.7.If you have a fish, watch a fish swim.Talk about its fins.Discuss the anatomy of fish.8.Dissect the fish and review the main features of the fish.Provide procedures and questions when you dissect the fish.
If you want to avoid real anatomy, you can use the 4D Vision Great White Shark anatomy model. Some children and families don't want to do a live anatomy, so they use a 4D model map.My kids like to take it apart and reassemble it.
It is over 1 feet in length and has 20 removable organs and body parts. It is very strong. The company also produces models of frog anatomy.http://www.amazon.com/Vision-Great-White-Shark-10 extra-(One year we got frozen and frozen products from the Asian market.
Another year, we got some bass from someone's fish pond.9.(Optional) when the children wash their hands, let them observe the scales under the microscope and count the age of the fish.Like trees, fish scales grow a circle of fish every year.
To be honest, we can't see any circles on the scale we look.I think we need a stronger microscope or a bigger fish. However, it is still neat to see the scale under the microscope anyway.
Scales vs.
10.
Introduction to reptiles: Research on reptiles and amphibians.11.Scales vs.Sticky mud: let the child touch a piece of clay with rows of sunflower seeds covered with shells and a thin layer of non-Cooking spray.Let the child describe how everyone feels.
Which one do they think represents the skin of a reptile? The skin of an amphibious animal? Please let them know that this is a generalization as some toads have dry and rough skin and some geckos have smooth skin without obvious scales.(The event comes from "Let's listen for Herps!"From the Ranger Rick's NatureScope series.A small plate of clay with rows of sunflower seeds wrapped in shells and a small plate wrapped in plastic sprayed with a thin layer of non-Amphibian vs.
12.
Let the children touch some of the cassava sprinkled in a small bowl full of boiling water, touch a few grapes and/or table tennis placed in the sand or bowl.Let the children describe some of the differences between them.Which do you think is the representative of reptile eggs?Amphibian eggs? The eggs of the amphibians do not have a shell, so they do not have much protection to prevent drying.
The eggs of reptiles are kept moist by laying eggs in wet areas of water or land. They are strong but not crispy (like a bird's egg ).Eggs of reptiles can change.Turtle eggs are round and smooth.Snake eggs are oval and leather. Most amphibians and reptiles spawn, but there are also some bears that live very little.
(The event comes from "Let's listen for Herps!"From the Ranger Rick's NatureScope series.13.Read "amphibious animals: water-to-"Land Animals" by Laura Purdy Saras. When it comes to connecting the tongue of an amphibious animal in front of their mouth, ask the children to stick out their tongue and see where their tongue is connected.
Observe the tongue of the person next to you and see where their tongue is connected.Q: "Why do you think that God created the tongue of the amphibians to connect in front rather than behind?14.Take a quick look at the pictures in Barry Clark's "amphibians" (or view the pictures from your laptop ).
Including pictures of amphibians.
It says that they are millions of years old, but they are only strong evidence of the flood during the Noah period.15.(Optional) let the kids touch or see a live frog if you have them.We also passed a clam that was well preserved.
16.
Make a frog that jumps origami.
Or whatever you like.
(If this is done for young children, pre-Fold the paper and expand it.Let the children re-Fold the paper with a crease line as a guide.10 sheets of paper and 1 pre-17.Read the growing frog by Vivian French.18.(Optional) bypass snake skins and/or pet snakes.
Ask what we are going to learn next.
Indicate the difference between the upper scale and the lower scale.Ask them why they think God created them.(A lower proportion of the design allows them to climb and move. The scales above protect it from predators like armor.
) * If the children do handle a live snake, make sure they wash their hands after that.19.Spray a small amount of liquid Elmer's glue on the back of each child's hand and tell them to smooth it so it's on a thin layer.Tell them to put it there to dry.-Read "Reptiles: scales-"Skins" by Laura Purdie Salas or "reptiles" by Tish Rabe: All about reptiles.
-Tell the kids that gecko lizards can clean their eyeballs with their tongues.Ask them what they can touch with their tongue.-It is mentioned that the snake falls off the skin by rubbing the body on a rock or other surface.
First, give them a small amount of Elmer's glue on the back of their hands, and let them rub around and make a thin layer of glue.Let it dry.-When the glue is dry, let the child try to take off the socks without hand. They can rub their feet on the carpet.20.Quickly browse through some of the pictures in "Witness: Reptile": Colin McCarthy (or just look at the photos from your laptop ).
In the same way, reptiles are not a few million years ago. They are really only strong evidence of the flood during Noah.21.(Optional) let the child observe, touch and discuss more about lizards.
(We used a lizard and a fence lizard that the family caught on the same day. They wear gloves when handling because they bite occasionally.22.(Optional) sing \ "cold-Blood spine \ "song.
23.
(Optional) if you are not limited by time, allow the child to choose an amphibious, fish or reptile from "drawing now, Book 6: animal habitat"-On land, ponds, rivers, seasWrite-Now) draw it.24.Review what we have learned.Lyric Life Sciences, Volume 1 Audio CD (found using Amazon ).Com ASIN code: 0964636778) is a wonderful CD!We like this series that introduces science with catchy songs --Full of factual information.
My kids love to sing cold blood animal songs from here!We also use the attached book to list drawings and more information for all animals based on class and order. This special CD includes the scientific methods, features of all living organisms, vascular plants, algae, fungi and non-vascular plants, aquatic animals, cold-blooded mammals, birds and several microorganisms. You can download personal songs from Amazon.
If you want to buy one for a cold-blooded spine.I like to incorporate as many subjects as possible when doing unit learning.Book 6: animal habitat--(Draw-Write-"Now" by Marie Hablitzel is a great handwritten copy (for kindergarten/grade 1st ), it also includes wonderful painting lessons where young and older children can easily successfully follow animals.
This is not a picture book that can be read;Instead, this is an art and handwritten copy.We use it to draw pictures of reptiles and amphibians. It has simple steps.by-Draw steps for frogs, lizards, crocodiles, etc.
Even my 4 year old can successfully follow instructions with my 8 year old.It also includes a short handwriting class and the bio used in my 4 year old handwriting practice.Below is the lapbook page that you can print out to get your child done to view us at co-op.
At the end of our unit presentation, the children will be able to show off the notebooks they have completed.Feel free to add the following link.Life cycle of fish: http: // www.Family School.com/salmon.Fish Lapbook: http: // www.Family School.Com/fis_and_fishing_lapbook.Frog Lapbook: http: // www.Family School.Com/frog-lapbook.Lapbook links for many reptiles and amphibians:hubpages.Com/hub/crawler-amphibians-lessons-worksheets-Reptile Category: http: // www.
