How to Give a Speech without Notes - where to rent a mechanical bull

How to Give a Speech without Notes - where to rent a mechanical bull

For many people, giving a speech will turn them back to their tails, running or breaking out in cold sweat.
They would rather die than go to the podium and talk.
This phenomenon is actually recorded.
When people were asked what they were most worried about, an amazing majority said in front of the group.
Death came second.
So why does anyone in the world want to give a speech without notes?
After all, isn't our notes used to help us finish our speech?
Aren't they trying to keep us from forgetting what we want to say?
Aren't they trying to prevent this from happening?
Terrible event: is our mind blank?
My answer to these questions is loud NO!
When you rely too much on your notes, you put your brain on cruise control.
As the navigator of your speech, imagine that if your notes suddenly flew over the room, all the papers were scattered in the wind.
What will you do?
Pilots rely on their cooperation.
Take over the pilot.
You don't have a colleague. pilot.
You have to rely on your brain.
The purpose of this paper is to give you some tips to train your brain to work for you.
The goal is to get rid of your dependence on notes.
When the wind blows and your notes fly away (or your computer crashes the night before your speech), don't panic.
On the contrary, he looked up confidently and said, "it doesn't matter.
I can give this speech with my eyes covered.
"How did you do it?
How do you train your brain and get rid of those nasty notes?
First of all, you don't need to pay full attention --free.
You can take notes to the podium as usual.
You can always put them on the table in front of you.
The difference this time is that you will never look at them!
Just in case, you put them there.
But when you work without notes, you suddenly notice that you no longer need notes.
My notes have been reduced to a single note --
Card (this is a 30 minute demo) I put it in my jacket pocket.
I never pulled it out.
How do you think great musicians play without music?
When they can perform 10 to 12 pages of work without a piece of music, how do they achieve this in their career?
You know the answer to this question. Practice! Practice! Practice!
Preparing your speech requires diligent and planned practice.
I once heard someone say, "you should be afraid if you are not ready.
"Yes, practice will be perfect and practice will let you throw your notes in the wind.
Whether you believe it or not, some people are afraid of talking and they don't want to think about it.
They delayed the work of speaking or speaking because they were afraid at the thought of it.
These people avoid practicing out of fear, thus assuring themselves that their most terrible fears will come true.
If you don't want to, or can't practice, you 'd better not get on the podium.
Your notes don't help you. Nothing will.
How did you practice?
* Decide what you have to say and write it down.
Write down everything, even your jokes, antidote, and examples.
Read aloud what you wrote. Re-write and re-
Writing to make the speech conversational. Re-
Write to ensure that the speech meets the specified time.
Add and delete sections.
* Since your speech has been written exactly as you requested, read aloud five times in a row.
After each reading, raise your eyes from the page between paragraphs.
Before you look down, try to think about what happens next, paragraph by paragraph (or section by section ).
* By the time you read for the fifth time, you are ready to remove your speech from the written page and put it on a note card.
You will put some words or sentences on the note card that will transition you to the next part.
These are stumbling blocks that you notice while reading.
You are reading: "The biggest fear I have in making a speech is that I will lose my place and forget what I have to say.
One trick I use to make sure I will remember is. . .
"Oh, you forgot what will happen next.
You look down at your notes and see "prepare PowerPoint slides ".
\ "You will write PowerPoint on your note card.
* Now that you have bullets on your note card, practice your speech 5 times with a card in two days.
You don't want to practice too many times in a row this time.
You want your brain to expand.
This process of practice is not just memory.
It's about getting your brain to work. -
Teach it to expand with you.
After each practice, please note how often you have to look at the cards.
Please note if you have added some content or a new story.
If so, put these things on your card, rework your card and start over.
* After the fifth practice, you are now ready to give up the note card.
Practice your speech in the shower.
Practice while walking the dog.
Practice while driving.
Practice speaking at least 10 times in places where it is impossible to take notes.
Pay attention to where you stumble or forget what's next.
For example, if you practice in the shower and you are in the middle
I don't quite remember the next part through your presentation, which is good.
You go to your notes as soon as you have a bath.
When you see what is putting your memory in trouble, you start running again.
Next time, in the shower or in the car, you will remember that part and continue.
I suggest at least 10 practices before your presentation.
But as soon as you make your presentation easily and your notes are clearly in your mind, you are ready (even if you only Practice 4 or 5 times this way ).
If you prepare and practice and put your notes on the podium or in your pocket, you will find the presentation actually interesting.
Your brain loves this exercise and you will know that no matter what happens to that little note, you will be successful in delivering your speech.
Nothing can stop you now!
Imagine how touched your audience will be!
How did she do it, no notes?
Only your dog knows your secret!
