oil or fat meat?Since I first wrote this recipe, my daughter and her husband have decided to cook only with solid fat. These fats are solid at room temperature, not vegetable oil, olive oil, sunflower oil or something like that, and liquid at room temperature (this is in our temperate climate anyway ).If you want, I 've added a little bit about using solid fat at all the relevant points in the recipe.Whether you cook with oil or fat, this is your choice. My preference is to use olive oil in a salad and these days I use butter or goose drops in this type of food while I used to use olive oil or sunflower oil.No matter what you use, the taste is not much different (although the taste will definitely be different if you use coconut oil ).1.5 pound steak or ground beef.If the mixture is too "wet", you may need some oatmeal, a little flour or some crumbs to put it together.A little oil for fryingEdit: Since writing this for the first time, my daughter has decided that she and her husband will no longer use vegetable oil in food, so I will now either use the butter knob or the goose fat knob, this is two of the three solid fats in my home (olive oil is the third, but I didn't use it in salt and pepper.I just use the dry herbs in the cupboard.Use any dried herbs you have, or omit them if you don't like or don't.3.Add the chopped steak (ground beef) and mix everything together.I put all the ingredients in a large stainless steel mixing bowl and you can see the reflection on the side of the bowl!Place the frying pan on the stove and add a knob for cooking oil or solid fat (such as butter, goose meat, drop of beef or lard) and heat it gently. When you mix all the ingredients together, you may find that they are too "wet" to stick together like meatballs. If you try to squeeze the meat and onion mixture into a "ball", you will know if this will happen and it will constantly fall off at you.(At this stage, you can give up making meatballs and put all the meatballs in a frying pan to make Bologna sauce, but don't give up if you want to make meatballsIf the mixture is too "wet" (probably too much onion and a lot of juice added), you can add something to balance the moisture without affecting the taste. You can use a handful of oatmeal, or a bit of flour, or a handful of crumbs.I don't recommend adding too many of these because they reduce the taste, but if you really need to save and feed more people than suggested --Eating a few more oats or crumbs can make the meatballs more heavy.Warning: If you add too much, the mixture will get too dry and will not be combined. If this happens, add a little beaten egg to moisturize what's inside.Make the mixture into a ball. You can make these big or small as you wish. The smaller meatballs cook faster, which means that when the outside is burnt, it is unlikely that you will find uncooked pink meat in the middle! When people have 2 or 3 small meatballs on their plates instead of 1 big one, they seem to feel like they get more.Meatballs can be divided according to appetite or fed according to whether there are any children.I tend to make 12 meatballs with this amount of mixture.3 meatballs per person for 4 adults.I found that 2 meatballs are usually enough for a child.Put the meatballs in a frying pan and cook the first until the meat turns slightly yellow (OK, sometimes my meat turns black. It won't hurt as long as it's not too dark.It only takes a few minutes.Turn the meatballs around and the second side will fade.Meatballs are not fully cooked at this stage and need more cooking, but you can choose how to cook.-Remove the brown meatballs from the frying pan and put them in the oven-Prove the plate, add a pint of dehydration, dissolve in there is a spare cube, cover the plate (I use tin paper because the lid broke down a long time ago) and cook in the oven with gas mark 4 for about 1 hour.Drain the fat from the frying pan (be careful, it will be very hot) and gently add water with a spare cube dissolved inside.Do it very carefully. If the pot is too hot, adding water may cause some splash or steam to form.Cover the frying pan (or hot-Explosion Proof board), let the meat ball Cook for about an hour under low heat. The meatballs should be ready to eat, but it is better to cut the meatballs in half to test them to make sure there is no pink meat in them.If so, the meatballs are not fully cookedPut them back in the oven or in a frying pan and cook them for a while.Make a gravy concentrate according to the instructions on the package (E.G.g.Make a paste by mixing about 3 teaspoons of powder with a little water) and then add it to the still hot ingredients to make a thick gravy. This is optional if you don't like thick gravy. This is a great dish when you are preparing and cooking
