You should find out how high the flood flow can reach on the banks - mountain streams can turn into rapids within minutes after a heavy rain, and the water level can rise five meters in an hour! In this area, the flood will even exceed the river, and the torrential rain from the surrounding mountains and rivers can easily turn into a rolling flood without any warning and come to you. Choose a location that is flat without too many rocks, so that you have enough space to send a distress signal and are easy to be found by rescuers.
