How to Scan Odd (Non-Standard) Size Film Negatives on a CanoScan 8800F Scanner -Made Easy - marquee
Scanning non-Odd scan, nonThe standard size negatives on CanoScan 8800F are easier than you think. My sister inherited his negatives when my dad died and I was busy scanning all the old 35mm negatives using MP Navigator EX and my CanoScan 8800F flatbed scanner. Then I came across some negatives that didn't fit my movie tray.
Then there are other negatives suitable for the movie tray, but the scanning software does not explain correctly --The "cut point" between images is turned off and the image is not scanned correctly. While doing some preliminary research, it seems like I have to build or buy a new movie holder to scan these non-Standard size negatives. But doing more research can lead to simpler solutions.
What film format is the film of various sizes? How do we scan them?We found that this website shows several pictures of negative dimensions of various negative photos. So I now know that the film with the incorrect "cut-off" point was taken from the 110 camera. The other negatives look like we have, but the measurements are not entirely correct.
I found on the Canon website that the key to being able to scan odd numbers --Http:/software.canon-europe.Com/product/0010501.).However, I don't know how to load ScanGear, which is not one of the options in the program menu on my computer (Windows 7 PC.Then I noticed that there is a small checkbox on the MP Navigator screen.
..How do I start ScanGear? When you click scan, after clicking the use scanner driver check box, ScanGear starts and you will get a brand new menu screen/dialog box for ScanGear. As you can see in the next photo, the initial "preview" Scan of the negative still shows the "cut-off" point with incorrect intervals.Although the default preview does not select the correct image size, now with ScanGear, you can customize the scan by selecting the correct image using the mouse.
When subtitles surround images you don't want to scan, you can even choose not to scan images between other good images. So far, we have scanned 110 negatives using the 35mm film tray and ScanGear software to select the correct image. The next step is to go to the larger format color and black and white negatives.
From the sites mentioned above, we know that they may be 126 negatives in regular and large formats. However, CanoScan 8800F is not equipped with a movie tray suitable for these negatives.I have found various websites online and suggest how to build or buy movie trays in this special format.
I found that you can do all you need to do with the ScanGear software!I put the large format film tray in the scanner and give me a guide to putting the negatives.Next, start the MP Navigator and select the use scanner driver check box. From the ScanGear dialog box, make sure that the color negative is selected in the input settings section ".
It doesn't matter that you can select the film size to 35mm film strips, or change it to another format, because you will use the mouse to select the actual image you want to scan. After selecting the image, click the scan button in the lower right corner to complete the scan. Now all you need to do is click on the blue scan button in the lower right corner of the ScanGear screen and it will only scan the image of your choice.
Use the same program put into a large film tray as a guide for placing images, place the negatives on the glass of the scanner. On the ScanGear dialog box, select a monochrome negative for the input settings, because you will select the photo manually, you can set it to 35mm film strips.Click Scan to complete the scan. After scanning all the images, organize them in Picasa.
